Welton Beckett

Is an Americal born in 1902 and lived for 67 years. In California alone, you have countless buildings due to the work of his hands. The Washington Born American studied at the University of Washington under the architecture program in 1927.

It held a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the same University. At 31 years, he moved to Los Angeles. He had a strong partnership with the University together with Walter Wurdeman- his classmate.

Together with his classmate, they developed the complete design of an architectural firm handling high-end projects globally. Their focus included master planning, Fixtures, interior design, signage engineering, and landscaping. Five years later, his classmate passed on, and he renamed the company, Welton Becket and Associates.

Their office was one of the largest and magnificent offices in Loa Angeles. The famous Disney’s Contemporary Resort was redesigned by him and opened its doors for first clients after renovation in 1971.

In 1952 he won an elective post at the American Institute of Architects. Architecture runs in the family; his sons and a nephew took after the father and uncle, respectively.
